About Corvette
Corvette Hunt's journey into style began, by accident, when he was hired by Perfidia’s Wig World at the infamous Patricia Field boutique on Eighth Street in Manhattan. “The whole thing started at Pat’s. Their wig girl had quit and I happened to be there, so they gave me a crash course. It was the mid ‘90s and the current look was grunge (think Kate Moss or Courtney Love), but what I was doing was different. I had to know a Veronica Lake set and the Brigitte Bardot beehive, victory rolls, the traditionally waxed geisha, and powdered Marie Antoinette pompadours. So, my hair looks have always been influenced by those classic shapes infused with rock-and-roll textures.”
In November 2000, Corvette landed a coveted position as a wig stylist for Madonna’s promotional showcase at Roseland Ballroom, which led to joining her glam team on her 2001 Drowned World Tour. “I spent the money from tour on cosmetology school and then did advanced training at Vidal Sassoon.”
Corvette has appeared on episodes of Americas Next Top Model and Project Runway. He’s styled hair creations for: Madonna and the B52s, R&B singers (Queen Latifah, Toni Braxton, Lil Kim, and Foxy Brown), actresses (Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler, Sigourney Weaver, and Isabella Rossellini), supermodels (Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell), fine artist Cindy Sherman, and debutante heiress Paris Hilton. He’s worked on a promotional tour with Jennifer Lopez and done two promotional tours and two world tours with Madonna.
And his work has been awarded. Among them are Our Obsessions, Time Out New York, Best Hairstylist, Time Out New York, Best in Allure Directory, Best of the Borough in Vogue guide to Brooklyn Beauty and Fitness.
